You have hopefully reached some of the goals that you set out to achieve a few months ago. If that’s the case, you’re well on your way to success! Before you move on, reflect on the lessons that you’ve learned throughout your progress.   If you haven’t reached as many as you wanted, this is an opportunity to understand why and fix the issue before moving on.

Lessons Learned

To grasp a thorough understanding of your progress and to prepare yourself to tackle other hopes and dreams, open your goal journal, a word document, or a notepad. Jot down the following 10 questions and thorough responses to each one.

10 Questions to Ask Yourself

  1. What was my goal?
  1. What was my goal deadline?
  1. Did I reach my deadline?
  1. When did I reach my deadline?
  1. If I answered “no,” why not?
  1. What did I do well?
  1. What could I have done more of?
  1. What could I have done less of?
  1. Who did I talk to about my goal?
  1. How has striving towards this goal affected my life?

Read and reflect upon your answers to these questions. Even if you didn’t reach your deadline and are still working on your goal, your answers to these 10 questions can give you an idea of what you’ve done well and what may be stunting your progress.

You may even find that you haven’t been communicating enough about your goal. Maybe connecting with more people is the simple fix you need to achieve great things.
